Chitwood Signs with Bellarmine University

Austin Chitwood, a 6'2 defender from Christian Academy of Louisville will be continuing his education while playing soccer at Bellarmine University.

Austin has been a member of the CAL varsity soccer program since his freshman year. He served as captain of his team during his senior year.He received the Dependability Award and the Sure Foot award his sophomore year. He was named to Academic All State his sophomore year. Austin was named All Region Outstanding Player, All District Outstanding Player, All Tournament Team, Top Defender, Outstanding Aerial Defender Award his junior year. Austin was named player of the year his senior year. He was also named to the Male Bulldog Tournament Team, District 15 All Tournament Team, and the KHSAA Region 8 Tournament Team.

Austin is also a member of the nationally ranked Javanon 92 soccer team. As a member of this team he has helped lead them to State Cup victories in 2002,2003,2006,2007,2008. He was regional champs in 2008 and 2009. In 2009, they were semi finalist in the National championship.

Austin plans on pursuing a degree in business finance or accounting.
