CAL 47 Manual 48
(1/9/10) In a true nail biter against Manual, the CAL freshman fought the good fight with a pretty evenly matched team. After the first quarter, CAL was down by 7. But, they were able to tie up the game at the half at 24. After a tenacious third quarter, our boys were able to pull into the lead with a score of 32-28. They had a tough battle trying to keep the lead late into the fourth quarter. With three minutes left to go in the game, the score was tied until Manual took the lead. In the final seconds of an intense fourth quarter, CAL trailed by 1 point. Unable to get that last shot off before the buzzer, the guys were close, but missed the opportunity for the win. Sawyer Hobbs led the team with 25 points. Chase Darst added 10 points and led the team in rebounds with 8.

Bullitt East 58 CAL 50
1/5/10) In CAL's first game back after Christmas break, the boys gave it their all, but in the end, they lost by eight to Bullitt East. At the half, CAL was only down by five, but wasn't quite able to pull out after a tough third quarter ending in a 14 point deficit. Early on in the fourth quarter, Bullitt East extended the lead to 18. CAL began its full-court press and was successful at cutting the lead to 6 points with only two minutes to play making it an exciting quarter. Chase Darst led the team with 15 points and 11 rebounds in his first game back after being out all season with an injury. Sawyer Hobbs and Sumner Franklin added 8 points each. Andrew Frey had 3 steals and Adam Crane had 2 steals and 2 assists which helped lead the fourth quarter comeback. Unfortunately, Bullitt East hit 8 out of 10 free throws in the final 2 minutes to pull out their victory.
